Our Mission

The Franklin County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is dedicated to preparing and protecting Franklin County citizens and their property from the effects of natural, man-made, and technological disasters.

We achieve this by maintaining a strong foundation of:

  • Communication – Keeping the public informed through timely alerts and updates.
  • Cooperation – Working alongside local, state, and federal agencies to ensure coordinated response efforts.
  • Coordination – Organizing emergency preparedness initiatives and disaster response strategies.

Our agency operates with professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and transparency to serve the residents of Franklin County effectively.


OEM Responsibilities

In addition to emergency management, our office handles:

  • Franklin County Search & Rescue team falls under the oversight of the Office of Emergency Management, as does the installation and maintenance of storm sirens throughout the county. OEM office also offers the Code RED mass alerting service. Go to our official website at www.fcoem.org and click on the Code RED link on the menu bar at the top of the page.
